I totally agree with you! I am a photographer, filmmaker, skateboarder, and writer even when I’m not doing these things. I feel I am these things no matter what because they have become different lens through which I look at the world.

Hey fellow knitter / painter / recover-er! My husband saw your post and shared it with me—he knows me well. (And I, too, have—ahem—"several" UFOs in with my yarn stash. I also suffer from knitting's SSS*).

Have you: seen Jackie Andrade's article (from 2009?) on Doodling and how it supports memory recall? (By 29%) We've called it "Cognitive Anchoring" over at CraftLit podcast because all of us have been able to anchor ourselves to the "now" via our knitting and creating.

*Second Sock Syndrome = the inability for an ADHD brain to finish a second sock because after you've figured the pattern out on the first one...where's the challenge?!
